Description

What is the Torah Family Living Planner?

It’s an annual physical planner that helps Torah observant moms be more intentional with their time and lives by organizing the details in a pretty and open-ended format. We as moms have a lot going on, even if we stay at home most days. So many details can slip through the cracks without a plan for organizing and remembering them. The Torah Family Living planner helps you with the details, and also reminds you to prioritize your Torah journey.

Who am I?

I am a mom, just like many of you. I used to be very disorganized, and important things got forgotten all the time. (Yes, I even missed a mortgage payment once.) Even my marriage was suffering because I was forgetting to do things that my husband had asked me to take care of. I knew I had to change, so I started with a notebook, and over time and with trial and error, I designed the Torah Family Living planner. It now goes with me everywhere and is used many times every day.

I have been a paper planner user for many years now. I know that my brain benefits from writing things down, and I feel more grounded knowing that I have at least a rough plan for my day. I am so excited to be able to finally bring you a planner designed just for moms on this Torah journey. I have tried to pack as many Torah keeping features as I could into this package, and try to keep it from feeling like an encyclopedia. If you need help deciding how to customize your planner before buying, please contact me. I would be happy to help you get the features you need to get the most benefit from your planner. You can email me at sheepmommy@yahoo.com.

If you’ve felt overwhelmed and disorganized trying to keep track of all the things, I guarantee that the first time you actually remember to thaw the meat because you planned dinner, the overwhelm will begin to lift. Your good intentions will start to pay off, because one glance in your planner will tell you what Torah portion to read this Shabbat. You will feel on fire as a Torah observant mom when you use the feast day planning pages to get ready for the next holy day, rather than realizing Sukkot starts in a week. Having everything in one place is life changing, and enables you to go from pulling out your hair to calm, cool, and collected.

Here are some of the features.

This planner is handmade by me. The pages are printed on 24 lb paper for durability, and the covers are 10 mil laminate. Your planner will also have two clip in bookmarks, one to mark the current month, and one for the current week. A pen loop is attached to the back cover as well. Many of my customers have happily reported that their planner survives a year of use quite beautifully because of the durability.

    • Front and back laminated covers
    • Shema, Amidah, Lord’s Prayer, and priestly blessing
    • Goal pages to help you improve your relationship with YHVH and your family
    • Prayer request pages in the front
    • Scripture copywork suggestions
    • 12 dated calendar spreads (Currently Jan to Dec 2025) or you can choose undated
    • 52 undated weekly spreads with Shabbat planning section and shopping list on each
    • 44+ blank pages, including lined, blank and gridded to use as you see fit
    • Feast day planning pages with ideas for celebrating each feast and appropriate Scripture passages
    • Feast days stickers and omer counter stickers to put in your monthly spreads (Jewish dates are listed with stickers for your reference.)
    • Torah portion and haftarah portion passages on each Shabbat
    • Two clear plastic bookmarks that can be moved
    • Pen loop inside back cover
    • 200+ pages
    • Spiral binding or disc binding, your choice
    • Page size: 7 x 9.5 inches

Options

You may now choose between spiral bound and disc bound for your planner. Please choose one option by clicking the appropriate button near the add to cart button. You can also add the following additional sections for an additional price. This allows you to customize your planner with exactly the features you need. To keep your planner from getting too thick and heavy, I recommend limiting yourself to two additional sections. I have expanded, stand-alone planners if you need them.

The Open Homeschool Planner

Homeschool Section Upgrade

There is now an additional homeschool section available for an additional $9. The homeschool section will be added to your planner, and consists of 66 pages (8 student planning spreads, attendance record, field trip pages, reading logs, media logs, and assignment record sheets). This section will work for up to 8 students. Please check the homeschool section box above the add to cart button. These homeschool specific pages are only added to your planner if you check the box. Otherwise you will receive the basic planner.

Homemaking and Budget Section Upgrade

I am excited to be able to add an optional budget and cleaning schedule section for an additional $9. It includes 12 monthly budget sections, 6 savings goal pages, several debt tracker pages, and 12 master cleaning spreads, designed to help you organize tasks by daily, weekly, and monthly. The budget pages are somewhat open-ended, so you can use them as you see fit. If you have used them in the past, I added more lines and a place to keep totals. You can download a simple version of the budget sheets, to see how they will work for you, before deciding to add them to your planner. Just as with the optional homeschool section, you need to check the box above the add to cart button to receive this additional section.

Menu Plan Section Upgrade

Do you need a section to plan out your family’s meals for each week? This new section will help you do just that. The section begins with several pages for tracking your family’s favorite recipes and where that recipe is located. No more trying to remember what cookbook it came from. Then you will find 52 pages with a grid for planning meals for the week on the left, and a shopping list on the right which can be cut out and taken to the store.

Brand New Torah Portions Section Upgrade

You can now put my Torah portions journal in your planner! This was suggested by a lovely lady who wanted her Torah studies right in her planner. Please note that this section is larger than the others, so you will definitely have to pick and choose if you want this section. It will look like the pages in the Torah portions journal, but sized to fit in your planner.

It came the other day 😍 this is my third planner of hers and I absolutely love them. So pretty too! The work put into it is appreciated. Perfect timing to get this one since acclimating to new schedule and routine 🙌🏼♥️ last week was an adjustment that’s for sure and this will definitely help me keep on track.
Highly recommend

-Sharon

Thank you so much for the beautiful planner! I love all the detail you put into it. It is so gorgeous and I love that you have Shalom on the front cover. I feel like the last several years I’ve focused on so much ugly in the world. Things I never should’ve been focusing on in the first place. It’s so nice to look at something so beautiful every morning. I also absolutely loved the added touch of the beautiful rose gold pink shipping envelope that it came in.

-Stephanie

I use the Torah Family Living planner! I’m on my 3rd one!! I LOVE how it’s laid out! I may add the household management one I think they have… next year and probably the homeschool section, too.

-@theminnmama

Your daughter is so talented, her artwork is truly beautiful. I will admit the beauty of your planners is one of the things I enjoy about them. Looking forward to ordering mine, thanks for the awesome improvements!

– Samantha S.

I just got my planner from Torah Family Living in the mail and love it!!!!! The quality is amazing and it’s a perfect size to carry with me, and I love the planning for all of the feasts. It is so very practical in every way. And it is sooo cute💝. Thank you!!! I recommend the print version for everyone! The pictures really do not do it complete justice.

Is it really worth it?

Yes, you can get a calendar at the dollar store or large department store. But, be mindful of the limitations. They are cheaply made and fall apart well before the calendar runs out. The boxes are way too small to actually plan out your day. There are no Torah features, such as Shabbat, feast day pages, Torah portion readings, and prayers. They also have a hugely annoying lack – no note pages! Many planners sold online are beautiful, but are so detailed that you have to use them exactly as intended. I don’t know about you, but I change how I use my planner, sometimes on a weekly basis. I have used lots of different methods for planning my time, and the Torah Family Living planner has accommodated them all. If you need some ideas on different ways to use your planner, I am available to help you.

When you buy the Torah Family Living planner, you also have support from me. I can help you get a system going, and show you some of the ways I have used my planner. I also am happy to help if you have anything happen to your planner, such as a torn page. Just let me know if you have any problems, and we will find a solution. I love my planner, use it every day and carry it in my purse wherever I go! The updates to the new one are fabulous and I can’t wait to get my hands on it! Now the question…..do I order the new school year based one with all of the updates, or keep using my calendar year one since I am less than 6 months into it?? 😃

    • Heidi

Quite the conundrum, I know! Let me give you more info. I will have a Jan. To dec planner available this fall with an introductory price just like this one. It will have the same features and design, just different dates. If I were you, I would decide whether following the school year or the calender year is more beneficial. The only difference will be when the dates start. 😊

Oh my, I am so EXCITED!!! I just received my new Torah Family Living Planner yesterday and as a quick preview, as they say, “before the pen”, I LOVE IT! I’m an organizer/planner from the get go, but have always used my little checkbook-size calendar to order my life (oy vey); but lately have become obsessed over planners, and journals, and binders, oh my. In my search for trying to find that “perfect” planner, I found a whole subculture of semi-likeminded crazy ladies (in a good way) and found there are a ton of planners to choose from. What really set this planner apart from all the rest (set apart pun intended) is just that — as a Torah Observant believer in YHWH and Messiah, my life & week don’t fit the typical planner. I kinda take issue with many planners that reorder the days so that Sat. & Sun. are pushed together at the end of the week as the “weekend” and the 7th Day isn’t set apart. Many planners/stickers, even “faith” planners, seem to perpetuate a very “ME” glorifying, feminist/empowerment mindset. But John 3:30 says, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” That said, I love that the Torah Family Living Planner helps set our hearts & minds toward YAH with Scripture at the bottom of each monthly & weekly page and so nicely orders our days with the Feast Days & Shabbat as a priority; and I love that the Torah portion is given and there’s a special Feast Days section! Heidi really saw this void in planners and did a super job in meeting our “unique” needs.

For those that might be wondering, the monthly day boxes are a nice size (1 5/8″w x 1 1/2″h), so relatively compatible with a lot of stickers out there. The vertical weekly boxes are approx. 2 1/8″w x 4 7/8″h with the horizontal Shabbat box larger (yeah) 6 1/2″w x 2 1/8″h — very nicely laid out without a lot of unnecessary extras. I will probably do a blog post or video on mine once I get a month or two into it.

I chose to order my planner right away even though our girls (ages 23 & 20) are graduated from our homeschool and I don’t need to follow the school year, but the fall Feasts are just around the corner and I know this will help me plan the best fall yet, LORD willing! I think I’ll use the lined columns in back to keep track of Birthdays/Anniv. and the other pages?; the possibilities are endless. Perhaps the only thing that would make the pre-printed planner a tad more flexible would be a binder that one could easily add or remove pages; which one could easily DIY if they bought the printable version; I appreciate the option between the two! However, the pre-printed has a very study cover & back and I do appreciate the high-quality spiral in how it lays flat and you can fold pages behind itself. It’s very nice having the pre-printed planner during this season of my life (following elder care/death of a parent) as I just don’t want to take on too much DIY yet. I’m looking VERY forward to using it and highly recommend this planner! 🙂

I don’t know why it took me so long to do a review!! I have used this planner for almost a year now and I love it! I have made my own planners in the past and can appreciate the hard work it takes to make something that is not only extremely effective but also beautiful! Highly recommend this planner!

Do you have a printable version?

    • Heidi

A letter size printable version is in the works, and will hopefully be completed by December.

When will this 2019 Torah planner be back in stock?

  7. Lisa Lind (verified owner)

I love and am so thankful for this planner. All the thoughtful additions for torah living is my favorite thing about it, but then there are so many other things! It is so pretty and practical. i use the school based planner. it’s a great way for me to shift gears and begin plans for the next year. I look forward to the different design each year and what little additions heidi will create to add to it. i bought the extra pocket page and bookmarks last year. That was a great addition and it’s so nice that i can buy certain things SEPARATELY to make it just what i need for that year.

  8. Tiffany (verified owner)

I love my planner and want to buy more pages for it, but I would like to reuse what I have and just add the new pages to it, so I’m not being wasteful. Is there a way to just buy the pages I want to put in my preexisting planner?

    • Heidi

Absolutely! Order the planner with the binding style you currently have. Use the coupon code ONLYPAGES to let me know you only want the pages, and to get $5 off.

WHAT A BLESSING.SO GLAD THAT YAH PUT YOU ON OUR PATH.I purchased my planner in november and have never done a planner before. Imagine – 75 years old! Well, this new planner has me focused and with juggling 4 families-My 94 year old mother, a special needs sister 70, now in care and a son who had a stroke-61 and in care, and of course our own family needs– I needed help. Heidi, this disc bound planner is wonderful. I have inserted some pages for November and December and have been ‘practicing’. Thank you, todah Rabah!!! We don’t need the many pages on finances as we are pensioners and live on a limited income. Tiffany’s comments expressed my thoughts as well. Wonder if the expense section could be listed as an ‘extra’?… Definitly not a complaint, just a question.

  10. Samantha Shaffer (verified owner)

i received my 20-21 planner and i absolutely love it! this is now my third planner and each year the improvements and designs are amazing. i really appreciate the addition of the tabs and how each section is a full solid color background, it makes it easier to distinguish the sections at a glance and really brightens up the page. I wish i could put it into words properly but there is something about the design, the colors, the font, everything this year is very pleasant and somehow it all works together to feel very motivating. my planner is the first thing i do in the morning with the prayers and the hand picked scripture study, its a lovely way to start the day. My main use for my planner is to keep track of our homeschooling journey and Since we go through a charter i keep notes on everything we need to do and accomplish, purchases we make with funds, passwords, and so much more. My torah family living planner is everything i need and more, it continues to be a highly valued tool for every aspect of life.

LOVE the planners!!! I have been using them for 4 years now. I’ve used the spiral bound all four years and am wondering if the discs are better. i carry mine in my purse and by the end of the planner year the plastic breaks off, not terribly bad where i can’t use the planner, but it breaks and stretches a little, nonetheless. I’m wondering how the discs hold up over time and the paper attached to it. I get the full planner with lots of attachments. how does this hold up?
