Prayer can often be a struggle in a believer’s life. I know, for me, I have always felt a bit unsure as to whether I was praying correctly. What if He doesn’t hear me? What if I don’t say things right? Am I approaching the throne with the right attitude and demeanor?

Praying in the moment and during the day seems to come easy for me. Having a quick conversation with my Father while going about my day seems to come naturally. My struggle is in having a more structured time of prayer where I come to the Father on behalf of myself, my family, my friends, world events, etc. Yeshua took the time to pray in a more structured way for longer periods of time, and that is where I want to improve.

This is why I was so excited to accidentally (Yah knows what he is doing.) come across a concept on Youtube called a prayer bible. The idea is that we put tabs on our bible to mark verses pertaining to various categories that we want to pray about. We can then use our Father’s own words in prayer. I listened to someone recently talking about prayer (will try to remember who) and he explained that we don’t pray to convince God to change His mind. We pray to change our thinking to match His. What better way to accomplish that then praying His scripture and promises? It helps us to make sure we are praying as He would want us to pray.

I have found this idea extremely helpful in my own prayer life. Typically, in the morning, I start with 2-3 verses from both the daily and praise tabs. Then I pick a couple verses from categories that are fitting for the day ahead.  I may also be praying specifically for someone for healing or for wisdom. This helps me to stay focused and productive as I seek to keep my mind on the most holy and important work of prayer.

That is why I am so excited to help you create your own prayer bible with this DIY kit. The kit includes printed lists of verses for each category and cardstock glossy tabs ready to cut, fold and glue to the pages of your bible of choice.

This product is a printable. You will not receive a physical product.
You can print as many sheets of tabs as you need. This printable includes the printable tabs and the verse lists for each category.

Here’s my procedure for putting tabs on my bible.

• Select a category
• Cut out the correct number of tabs to match the verse list, and fold them on the line.
• Find the first verse or passage and highlight it with colored pencils or a bible safe highlighter.
• Label the category next to the verse with a pen.
• With a glue stick, glue the tab around the edge of the right hand page. I randomly put them at varying heights up and down the edge of the page, whatever seems to fit or look good.
• Work through the verse list until that category is finished.
• Enjoy the process and meditate on the verses as you go.
